From London to Paris via Malaysia and Brussels!
I started my career in recruitment in London, worked in Brussels also in recruitment - then moved to Malaysia and finally settled in Paris! The international bit is key in my career.
I recruit people!
My role consists of recruiting people to Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty. All sorts of different people from actuaries to underwriters as well as comms specialists and PAs. I recruit people all over Europe (I have also recruited a couple of people in Latin America too) I get to interview people (virtually) in some cool locations!
I'm often the first contact that a candidate will have with the company so my job consists in not only assessing the candidate but also selling our company as an employer of choice.
Working with all sorts of different people internally and externally
It sounds cheesy doesn't it? But I love people and this job allows me to speak to different people with different stories every day.
It also allows me to get involved in my passion, which is Diversity & Inclusion (D&I). I am part of the Diversity Council for the UK, and a member of Pride, one of our Employee Resource Groups, in the UK and France - I'm also a member of the Global Pride Board. Working in recruitment I am super conscious of the importance of having diverse candidates in different roles - my involvement in D&I also allows me to be vocal and visible about subjects which are dear to my heart (and to feel that I am also making a difference by bringing these subjects to the table). I'm lucky to be working for such an inclusive company that allows me to do this.
Be yourself
There is no point in pretending to be something you are not - or painting a picture of someone you think we want to see. Being your true self is the best version of yourself that can be - and that's the person we want to join our company.
The relationships I have built up over the years
I'm very proud of all the relationships I have built up over the years across the world - to this day I am friends with all my ex-bosses!
