From consulting in manufacturing to driving global campaign management
A key moment in my career so far was finding early on a passion for digital sales & services. During my studies, I was able to join a wonderful team within a medium-sized consultancy where I gained my first hands-on insights into end-to-end digital sales solutions. After learning how such ecosystems can deliver enormous value to both the organization, but also across the full customer journey, I decided to continue with consulting after my graduation especially focusing on the manufacturing industries.
During this time, I was lucky enough to learn from very experienced and talented colleagues on a global level & to engage with clients across multiple continents. In hindsight, this paved the way to where I am today. Joining Allianz in early 2021, I was warmly welcomed into the team as Business Architect, working on concepts and strategies within the Customer Relationship Management domain together with colleagues from various Lines of Business & across country organizations.
I drive global campaign management initiatives for Allianz
My team builds and operates digital sales capabilities required to make our salesforce succeed in a digital world. Therefore, we work closely with our sales experts & subject matter experts from different country organizations to identify their needs, but also to continuously improve the way in which customers are addressed.
In my role as a Business Architect, I am responsible for all campaign management related assets and that they can be scaled to all Allianz organizational entities. At the same time, I make sure, that group standards are adhered to and that our work is aligned with both local & global strategic initiatives. However, what I really love about the job and Allianz is that one can shape his or her role within the context of a specific job description. This is why Allianz gives me the freedom to address overarching questions such as: How do we target customers effectively? How do we segment our customer base? How do we leverage digital marketing trends?
Making a difference!
I have already touched on the fact that Allianz employees aren't strictly nailed down to their official job description. Allianz wants their employees to think outside of the box and to collaborate across teams and geographic boundaries. This is exactly why I feel being able to make a difference each and every day and being able to impact our business from different angles. If you are motivated & engaged, paired with the ability to generate valuable insights, colleagues will appreciate your input and you will find great joy in your work.
This general observation also applies to my role as a Business Architect, where you will have a very broad area of responsibility by design and where you will be able shape your own focus topics in addition to your core tasks.
Live every week like it's shark week
Make the most out of every engagement, every job, and every assignment because this is exactly what will differentiate you from the rest. This will help you to pitch for yourself and to convince others of yourself.
100% entirely remote onboarding
The greatest achievement since joining Allianz at the beginning of 2021 was being able to get successfully on-boarded & integrated into the organization under circumstances we have never seen before. This may sound as an unusual achievement, but due to the pandemic, personal touchpoints with colleagues were very limited and working from home became the new normal. Thanks to my colleagues, who proactively reached out via Microsoft Teams or directly called, I felt welcomed and part of the team from the very first moment. Moreover, I set myself the objective to schedule at least one call each day for the first couple of weeks with folks from other teams, Lines of Business, or Management in general. This really made the difference in my opinion as it gave me the visibility I would have gotten otherwise strolling through the offices, having lunch in the cafeteria or getting an espresso from the office barista bar.
