Hi Llona, thanks for your question!
As a graduate, there were two stages to our onboarding:
1. Graduate Induction
2. First Rotation Team - Role Introduction
The Graduate Induction ran for three days, in which we learnt about Allianz and the graduate program. We had many information sessions run by various members of the Allianz Australia community, mixed with technology set-up sessions and activities to get to know the rest of our graduate cohort. I would have loved to meet everyone in person, but given the circumstances (a large portion of the company was still working from home due to COVID), we still had some cool alternative activities planned, such as a virtual escape room. A session that stood out to me the most was a strengths workshop. We had previously completed the CliftonStrengths assessment, and in this interactive workshop, we explored our results and learnt ways to harness our strengths and utilise them in the workforce.
We started in our first rotation teams on the fourth day, and I was fortunate enough to meet part of mine in person at our office. My onboarding involved many meetings (both in-person and virtual) to get to know the different people in my team, their roles, and major projects/ work they have been involved in, as well as chat to teams we regularly interact with. This was great as it helped paint a picture of how our division works and how the work everyone completed was interrelated. There was also mandatory compliance modules (you'll find this in most large companies), and getting access to some of our systems did take a while, but my manager was able to still get me started on some basic tasks without them.
